Home > School Health Program

A light-weight awareness building program about improved nutrition for adolescents (classes 5-9) in the backdrop of Sustainable Development Goals via engagement of school children, teachers, and schools in a fun-filled, game based and entertaining environment.

Sustainable development goals or SDGs are part of the United Nations' call to aim for an equitable, peaceful, resilient, and prosperous world by 2030, integrating social, economic, and environmental dimensions. Achieving these goals requires all stakeholders to play their parts– governments, civil society, business, academia, schools, and youth – and collaborate extensively.

The AHANI movement has initiated a school health awareness program that aims to facilitate schools to adapt SDGs as an important part of school-based activities to improve awareness about health and nutrition gaps among adolescents.

Schools are the core foundations of our society, and the world relies on schools to prepare children for the future while empowering them to create a better world. Schools have a critical role in addressing the global challenges and achieving the SDGs by 2030. Through their unique positions in society, schools can transform their learning environments into dynamic hubs of transformative leadership by students and teachers for the SDGs. Therefore, it is important for the future of the world that all schools and educators work towards achieving the SDGs. United Nations Sustainable Development Solution network, in support of UNESCO’s Global Action Program on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), has initiated a Global School program with the mission to equip schools to shape a sustainable and prosperous world.
