Adolescent nutrition is emerging as a critical area for intervention across India with the dual burden of undernutrition as well as obesity. Nutrition and development of an adolescent or a young adult are integrally related.

The UN’s Agenda for 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 offers a common framework of international cooperation to promote sustainable development, where “Nutrition” is at the heart of goal no. 2. It aims to ‘End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture’ and thereby remains an essential component for many of the other goals.

The AHANI initiative, via its multitude of activities for school-going adolescents, aims to introduce these SDGs in a fun and entertaining manner, thus piquing the adolescent's interest to contribute to a sustainable, healthier and wholesome community.
